METHVEN1990-1999
I'm sure that my desire to use creativity and art to change surroundings was always there and by the time I left Middlesex, I had already landed my first interior design job: a large Georgian house in St. John's Wood. From there, a series of chance meetings - and saying "yes", lead to my working on projects for Thomas Cook's Nile cruisers, a large apartment on Zamalek, the Natural History Museum, a string of London hotels, ...Preparatory watercolour sketch for the "History of Nile travel" mural completed in 1996. The 13 linear metre mural is the focal point of the principal dining room a Zamalek residence: an entire floor created from 2 apartments in an Art Deco block. The Georgian-inspired mouldings and panelling were designed and created in Cairo. The central lighting feature is an antique sourced in London.
